The K*I*S*S* Exerciser

The K*I*S*S* Exerciser (also known as the Push-Pull Exerciser) is the result of over 10 years of research and development.  The motivation for this project was to find a single simple exercise that is perfect.  A “perfect exercise” must incorporate all five of the natural human movements which are:

  • Pushing
  • Pulling
  • Sitting up from a lying position
  • Straightening up from a bent over position
  • Rising up from a squatting position

It must also provide cardio benefit.

Here are some of the features of the K*I*S*S* Exerciser:

  • In normal usage, the Exerciser provides a complete upper body and core workout in 20 minutes or so.  That accounts for four out of the five natural human movements.  The Exerciser can also be used to provide leg exercise and even cardio benefit.  This makes it “perfect.”
  • Anyone can use the Exerciser.  On one hand, you can be young and fit while, on the other, you can be a senior citizen --- like me.  As amazing as it might sound, one size does fit all.
  • The Exerciser is safe to use.  There is little danger of injury to joints or strained tendons and muscles.
  • It can either be fixed to the floor of a gym or be portable.  In either case, it is attractive --- almost like a piece of furniture.  It has been referred to as a “wooden machine.”

Two versions of the exerciser have been designed and developed to a high degree:

The “horizontal” version of the exerciser has all the benefits listed above and involves pushing and pulling toward and away from from the front of you while in a seating position.  It also involves bending forward and leaning back.

The “vertical” version of the Exerciser can be used in two ways:

  • You can stand and pull up to the shoulders from arms starting at the sides and then push down, or
  • You can sit and push up from your shoulders to arms-length over head and then pull down.

Both these pairs of movements exercise the pushing and pulling muscles but they do not exercise a person’s core.

The heart of the K*I*S*S* Exerciser is a specially designed hydraulic cylinder.  The resistence provided by the Exerciser is determined by the setting on a small needle valve in the hose that permits oil to flow from one end of the cylinder to the other.

A report has been written that describes the K*I*S*S* Exerciser in detail, including:

  • The theory behind how it operates
  • Instruction in its use
  • Its application to different fitness needs
  • Sample workouts
