The K*I*S*S* Fitness Program
The K*I*S*S* Fitness Program is the first book that I wrote. If you have been trying to improve your physical condition, but without success, this program may be the answer you have been looking for. It's a very simple program that will take you from wherever you are now to wherever you would like to go. Yes, that's right; it's suitable for anyone --- from the couch potato or senior citizen to the competitive athlete. You can choose the point in the Program where you would like to begin and you can choose how far in the Program will be enough to meet your fitness goals.
The Program includes both endurance and strength exercises with roughly equal time being devoted to each. So, it's a balanced program. In addition, there is some stretching built into the exercise sequence; so, flexibility isn't neglected either.
The Program has two "Parts" each having five "Levels," a total of ten Levels. Level one is very easy and, if that's not easy enough for you, there are even easier versions of the exercises that a person can do. So, there isn't any excuse for a person not getting started with the Program unless, perhaps, he is a senior citizen and is slowing down or is impaired in some other way. On the other hand, a person who is exercising at Level ten of the Program will be in pretty good shape. Most people who reach Level 10 will be satisfied with this level of fitness. However, for the person who is very serious about his fitness or for the athlete who would like to sneak in a little bit of "extra credit" training, an "advanced" version of the Program is included in the book as well. This adds another ten Levels to the Program. A person who gets to the top Level in the advanced version of the Program will be in very good shape. I confess that I have never achieved this myself. I think that the best I have done is around Level 15.
I feel that the method used in advancing through the Levels of the program is unique; I haven't seen it anywhere else before. It provides a built in warm up and insures that a person "owns" the Level of the Program he is on before trying to advance to the next. In any exercise program, it's best to take your time. Slow and steady wins the race.
The endurance exercises that are used in the Program are walking and/or running --- although other endurance exercises such as riding a bicycle would work fine. The strength exercises all use a person's bodyweight for resistance. As I've already mentioned, there are simpler versions of the strength exercises in case the standard versions are too difficult. This is why both running and walking are used for endurance exercises. The Program calls for a gradual transition from walking to running --- at any pace. In the advanced version of the Program, we try to run faster...
A section of the kook is devoted to training tips that will be helpful in this program as well as in any exercise program a person might become involved with. Finally, special chapters are devoted to older folks and to the use of the program in a group setting, perhaps at a summer camp for youth or at a school.
On a personal note, if you have growing children, I would like to suggest that you seriously consider making the K*I*S*S* Fitness Program a family activity. All members of your family will improve their physical condition and everyone will have fun together (perhaps even teasing one another about the terrible shape they are in!). Wouldn't be wonderful if your entire family developed a serious interest in adopting a healthy lifestyle? This book gives you the tools for doing this. The Program is family tested. It works. It can do as much for you and yours as it did for me and mine!
The K*I*S*S* Fitness Program is available in both printed and eBook form. You can order the printed version on Amazon. You can download the eBook version of the book for FREE here. The eBook version is more recent and includes an appendix plus a few additional minor changes. In spite of these updates, the basic content is the same in both versions of the book. The Appendix material is called the Modified Program and is available as a free download here --- if you prefer to buy the printed book.
